If your pet qualifies under Pet Passport but you are using a non- authorised route or carrier then the entry into UK must be under licence. Contrary to the Minister's statement, early release takes about 1 week ( 5 working days) to clear the ministry paperwork. Many airlines consider the shipment of pets a nuisance. The gains are small and the fines for getting it wrong are large. As a result some airlines will no longer carry pets into the UK. B.A. has recently announced a ban on several dog breeds on all flights worldwide and will add more. It is expected that other airlines will do the same.
